MIRKO VIGLINO
Born in 1980 in Rome where he is now based, Mirko Viglino is a freelance photographer. He graduated in 1999 as an aeronautical air traffic controller and achieved the commercial pilot license. His passion for flying has developed thanks to the achievement of qualifications for aerobatic flight and the studies for obtaining the license of airline transport pilot. After joining the family business supporting the management and marketing, in 2012 he discovered that photography can be a wonderful excuse to better understand his surroundings. Through the medium of photography, he is seeking to find the unexpected and the absurd in the everyday life of normal people. His passion and skills brought him great success internationally one year after another. In 2013 he attended a photojournalism master at ISFCI in Rome, in 2014 exposed his work EMF (electromagnetic field) at 001 Gallery in Rome, which made him to obtain an honourable mention at Fotoleggendo 2014. A year later while attending the WSP masterclass, Viglino received a scholarship for his work. In 2016 he had his work EMF published on Wired USA as main feature. In 2017 his work on nightlife in Rome “The secret machine” was exhibited at the Kolga Tblisi Photo. In 2018 his portfolio on exorcism and miracles “Christus_DEL” was selected and presented at the Phodar Biennal in Sofia. Recently, his documentary on a serial killer, titled “Under a Killing Moon” was twice published by Stern crime and Crime Plus and displayed at Aurea Gallery during “The month of photography” in Rome.
